Options and Alternatives
Each death is as individual as each life.
So when it comes to funeral plans an individual approach is important. We are happy to help you create the final farewell arrangement that you want, at an affordable price with your individual touch.
If it is legal and beautiful then we will help you achieve it.
Funeral or Wake
Traditionally a funeral involved a church, a priest and some triangle sandwiches. That is exactly what some people want and we can do that for you. Many people do not want this anymore and are looking for a cheaper option, a less formal option or a more personalised approach.
Funerals usually have the deceased person present in a coffin, a eulogy, a slide show and then some food afterwards.
Modern funerals can be as simple as a 'wake' type event with or without the person/ashes present, and can be held anywhere with permission of the landowner. So backyards, parks, the pub or club, the beach or a hall are all acceptable places to hold a service.
Cremation or Burial
As modern advances are made cremation or burial are the basics of what you can do.
There are options for traditional burial, natural burial, burial on your own land and even upright burial. You can be embalmed and entombed or get creative with your headstones.
Cremation has its own options with shrouding and casket design. Urns for ashes or creative choices like jewelry, stones and blown glass.
We now have Aquamation available in Australia and the future has choices for composting.

Coffins,
caskets or shrouds
We do not mark up funeral products, so you are able to look at all your options and work within a budget.

You can decorate your casket with painting or writing.

We offer the option of building your own coffin or making your own shroud.

Please feel free to browse the options you can find online, or there are some links above and Kylie Hutchinson will work with you to meet your needs.
Alternative options
Would you like to stay home to die?
Have a home vigil?
Have a home based funeral?
What would you like done with your gravestone?
Or your remains?
Or would you like to hand out bookmarks instead of an order of service book?
What about delivering your own eulogy with a recording?
A living wake?
A wild party at the pub with a marching band?
A huge sing along?
Reading of a poem?
Everyone sign your coffin?
Flowers to be handed out?
Perhaps a stubby cooler instead?

These are all things we have co-created with past services.
You are able to make this personal and meaningful as long as you plan and have conversations.
